God of peace and justice,
we pray for the people of Ukraine today.
We pray for peace and the laying down of weapons.
We pray for all those who fear for tomorrow,
that your Spirit of comfort would draw near to them.
We pray for those with power over war or peace,
for wisdom, discernment and compassion
to guide their decisions.
Above all, we pray for all your precious children, at risk and in fear,
that you would hold and protect them.
We pray in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace.

SUPPORT ALPHA IN PRAYER

Alpha is a series of interactive sessions that tackle some of life’s big questions and explore the basics of the Christian faith. It is designed primarily for people who aren’t churchgoers and attracts a diverse range of guests, including people of different ages and backgrounds, all with differing viewpoints. South Cheltenham churches are running Alpha on Tuesday evenings for 9 weeks at Emmanuel starting on Tuesday 20th September.

If you are interested in supporting Alpha and are not part of the team or bringing a friend along this term we would love to encourage you to support the course in prayer. Paul and Jenny Youde are hosting Alpha prayer support group at 7.30pm in their home on Tuesday 20th September. Further dates are still to be finalised, but please do email Paul paul.youde@yahoo.co.uk to join. Please pray for the guests, hosts and speakers as we make final preparations in the lead up to our Alpha course.

For more information about Alpha please get in touch with Robert Atkin at rob@cnc.church or find out more at www.southcheltenham.church/alpha
